The Epistula is the newsletter of the Canadian Association.
It was established by Past President Ted Arcand and originally published by Dr.Osman Gialloreto.
Today this responsibility falls under the auspices of the Delegate of Communications.
The name "Epistula" is Latin for letter.
“The Serving Brother” is a joint venture between the Canadian Association and the American Association of The Order of Malta, offering “Catholic Spirituality to the Incarcerated.” Recognizing the disparate conditions that Catholic prisoners find themselves in, the publication is intended to represent a “spiritual lifeline” to those readers finding themselves in conditions inhospitable to the Catholic faith.
It is currently distributed in Ontario, Saskatchewan and British Columbia.
